Enrique Diaz-Guzman Zavala, MD

Dr. Diaz-Guzman completed his medical training in July 1997 from the Ignacio A. Santos School of Medicine-ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico. He completed Internal Medicine training and served as Chief Resident for the Internal Medicine program at the Hospital San Jose-ITESM in Monterrey Mexico between 1999 and 2003. Subsequently, he completed an Internal Medicine Residency and a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, where he dedicated his last year of fellowship to lung transplantation training. Dr. Diaz-Guzman was appointed as faculty at the University of Kentucky in 2009, where he served as the Medical Director of the Lung Transplant Program and Co-Director of the ECMO program between 2011 and 2013. Dr. Diaz-Guzman joined the faculty of the Division of Pulmonary UAB as Associate Professor and Medical Director of the Lung Transplant program in 2013.
